Something New!

Happy Thursday anyone starting a 3 day weekend????? I normally do and then I get grumpy on Mondays as I have all the extra work to do!

Well I decided to try making something new. After reading so many times about pearl barley from http://burpandslurp.wordpress.com/ I have decided to give it a try.

Veggie and Chicken stirfry with pearl barley!

I added this peanut sauce to the barley to give it some more taste and I must say this dish was a success! I made the stir fry with just a little bit of soy sauce as I know I was going to add this peanut sauce to the mix!

Peanut sauce is the BEST. Does this one have the spicy, coconut flavor?

oh yeah! barley!!! don't you just love how chewy and plump those things are? what a TERRIFIC idea to use peanut satay sauce! I LOVE that sauce! I could drink it straight!

Oh isn't barley delicious? Pearled barley has had it's outer fibers removed and greatly reduces cooking time. For an even more 'whole' grain, try barley that has been hulled, but not pearled. It packs a fiberiffic punch :-)

That looks really good. I'm so glad I stopped by your blog again a couple of weeks ago! That is funny that you were looking for my recipe! I guess it was "blog fate"! :-)
