Date Bars

Made this the other day it is very delicious and the best part is that it is ooh so easy to make!

1 tbsp Butter
1 Cup Sugar
2 Eggs
2 tsp Baking Pwd
2 tbsp Water
( 3 0z) chopped nuts (I didn't add this in)
1 pkg 8 oz Sunsweet chopped dates
1 1/2 cup Flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp Vanilla

-Cream the butter & sugar
-Add beaten eggs, nuts, dates, vanilla, water together
- add sifted dry ingredients & stir entire mixture
- Spread on a lightly greased & floured 8" square cake pan
- Bake at 350 degrees 20-30 minutes or until golden. Cool on wire rack
- cut into bars. (optional - roll in pwdrd confectioners sugar)

Suggest you use Dromedary chopped dates - they are lightly sugared & less time consuming otherwise you have to chop the plain pitted dates & this gets messy. If you do use nuts normally Walnuts is being used alwys notify guests as alot of people are allergic to nuts.

Options : Try using a package of heath or chocolate chips they come out pretty good just have to let it cool a little longer.
